Moss was born February 13, 1977. He is an American football player. He played
with the Minnesota Vikings (Oak Raiders), New England Patriots (New England
Patriots), Tennessee Titans (Tennessee Titans), and the San Francisco 49ers in
the National Football League. Widely regarded as the greatest wide receiver of
all-time along with Jerry Rice, he holds the NFL single-season touchdown
reception record (23 in 2007) in addition to the NFL single-season record for
touchdown reception for a rookie (17 in 1998) and is ranked second on the NFL
all-time regular season touchdown list, with 156. Moss was well known for his
skill in securing contestable catches, and the term "mossed" has
become part of the football's language. Post-football, he was working for ESPN
as a studio analyst for its Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown
programs. Moss was born in Rand, West Virginia. He attended DuPont High School,
one of two schools were later merged into Riverside High School, where the
student excelled in football basketball as well as baseball and track. Randy
was also on the school's debate team. Moss was a DuPont Panthers' football
player who led them to two consecutive state championships, in 1992 and 1993.
Moss was a renowned wide receiver. He also played as a free safety and returned
punts. He was honored with the Kennedy Award in 1994 as West Virginia's
Football Player of Year. Parade magazine named him to their annual All-American
high school football team in 1995 and in 2009, he was named one of the 50
greatest footballers from high schools of all time.
